1. How do I secure my door in an emergency?
A lot depends on the type of door and why it doesn't lock (see Doors - Typical Faults). If you can't lock your door the best thing is to ring me on 0789 979 6062 and I can usually talk you through various options to secure the door or window for the night. In the unlikely event 'we' cant secure your door, depending on your location, I will either come out (latest call out is 20:00) or recommend one of our fellow locksmiths more local to you or who offer a 24/7 service.
2. When is it worth replacing my door or window?
Our personal opinion, is that if the repair is going to cost 50% of the cost of a new door or window then we'd recommend full replacement. As we consistently say, we do NOT replace/sell new doors or windows so you can be assurred of any unbiased opinion.

4. What are our normal working hours?
Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00, and most Saturdays by appointment or for emergencies. We do not work Sundays or bank holidays, although we can be contacted most times for advice or book service calls.

Most HU postcodes plus, on occasion, YO25, YO42, YO43 and DN18, DN19, DN20 & DN39
6. How long will it take to complete the job?
90% of all service calls take less than an hour. However, some sealed unit replacement, depending on the quantity, can take longer (we estimate on 30 minutes per window).
7. What is the guarantee/warranty offered?
All service calls were parts were used are guaranteed for 2 years. Misted/sealed unit replacement for 5 years.
8. How can I pay?
By cheque, cash or bank transfer. For businesses we can invoice but appreciate prompt payment
9. What do I if I'm locked out of my house or car?
We don't do emergency lockouts, however, we can recommend local, reputable companies that do
10. What don't you do?
We don't sell or install new doors or windows. We don't work 24/7 (we do however, try return all calls within the same day if you leave a message on our voicemail.) In terms of sealed unit replacement we don't replace them in wood frames (we only change in UPVC or Aluminium).
